Comfort Zone?!?!?

Updated: Apr 20, 2020

I made a promise to myself to give it my all in order to make this business succeed, and lately that has entailed stepping out of my comfort zone and it has been SCARY! I really believe in our products and put my whole heart into this operation, but I feel like exposure is the ingredient that we have been missing. I decided to do whatever I can to get My Herbal Apothecary on people's screens and into their homes, even if that stirs up feelings of self doubt.

I braved a self made video for a "medicine making series" for our instagram. I had to edit it down to try to keep it short and sweet and this involved me having to watch the video of myself over and over and it was not a pleasant feeling.

BUT I really want to highlight our tools and how we craft our products and instagram video seems like an easy way to make that happen. This video showcasing our tincture press can be found in our "highlights" section of our page. Come find us and watch me make an ass out of myself all year:)

I have also committed to blogging and posting a weekly newsletter. My intention is to give people a look into our life and how we run our business. We try to go the extra step in creating our products, making more potent medicine straight from the heart. Our blog and our newsletter titled Honey Bee are where we try to showcase these efforts. These are just meant to be a little note to let you know what we are up to, what products we just finished and where you can find us in person. By subscribing to our mailing list, you will receive notifications about blog posts and a monthly newsletter. We never sell your information and respect your time by only showing up in your inbox once a week.

I was offered an opportunity to become the resident herbalist over at Maia Toll's Night School online community. I have been a part of Maia's seasonal online teachings and in-person retreats for over 5 years now and they have taught me to tap into my intuition and become capable of hearing my inner voice. There was no way I was going to turn down and opportunity to give back to a community that has affected me so deeply. I was given my own "classroom" within the group to create herbal teachings and crafts; it has fittingly been named the Green Medicine Guild. I have thoughts of creating herbal medicine on video specifically for this group so that they can feel like a part of the process every step of the way. Just thinking about this endeavor gets me EXCITED, but it also stirs up insecure feelings of being able to make the class fun and informative enough. I have to push these thoughts aside almost daily with the trust that they will subside as time goes on.

To give our company even more exposure, we are vending anywhere and everywhere within a two hour drive. We try to work weekend events, selling products at wholesale prices just to get them in people's hands. Here is a current list of where to find us if you are local:

March 6th: Femina @ the Ware Center in downtown Lancaster

March 14th: March Maker's Market @ Tellus 360 in downtown Lancaster

April 17-18: Pennsylvania Herb and Garden show @ York Expo Center

April 25th: Whole Lot of Lulu Market in downtown Phoenixville

We are always looking for more places, do you know any great venues that you like to shop?

Love our products? You can do your part by leaving a review, post on social media or sharing with a friend. We appreciate your continued support; we wouldn't be here without you!
