What We Do
My Herbal Apothecary is an herbal remedy subscription box that is shipped to your door seasonally. Four times a year you receive a specially curated package to support you throughout the year. What makes us different from every other subscription box out there? We hand make every product that goes into your special delivery! Each season you will receive 3-5 herbal products to build YOUR home apothecary. Every season/year offers different products that may consist of teas, tinctures, salves, sprays, hydrosols and electuaries among various other possibilities. We make every attempt to make sure that your package arrives at your door by the first day of the season (March 21, June 21, September 21, December 21).

My Herbal Apothecary is a small, family-owned and operated business. Heidi is ServSafe Certified, is regularly inspected by the US Health Department and makes all of the herbal products in a ServSafe certified kitchen. The products are then stored in a temperature-controlled storage space to ensure you receive a quality product. Every product is made intentionally and in small batches; concentrating on quality, not quantity. Though we are a small business, we are completely dedicated to customer service and your satisfaction. Heidi makes every attempt to respond to any inquiries within 24 hours.
We stay mindful of our ecological footprint by using organic whenever possible and sourcing our plants locally first. We are blessed to be located in Lancaster County, PA. When we need more plants than what we grow, we are able to wildcraft before having to order online. We are also able to source raw, organic apple cider vinegar from the Amish and our honey comes from a local apiary. We own a still and distill all of our own hydrosols that we use in our products.
We ship our products in recycled, biodegradable packaging. Our boxes are not just 100% recycled, they are also made from 95% post-consumer content and are completely recyclable. Our "bubble wrap" is comprised of 100% recycled cardboard made entirely from post-consumer and post-industrial waste. The tissue paper and crinkle fill are also 100% recycled and are recyclable, so please make sure you keep the cycle going by reusing and recycling!

Why We Do It
In 1995 Heidi gave birth to her daughter Mareena. She quickly realized that she did not want to give this fragile being antibiotics and over the counter medicine for coughs and colds. Since this was the age before the internet Heidi ordered books, studied and learned to create basic herbal remedies for her family. Her curiosity propelled her to keep learning and exploring the plant world in order to create natural remedies for them. She read about making her own essential oils and hydrosols and became instantly intrigued. Eventually she purchased her own still to experiment even further. Heidi and her husband Ben purchased 1 1/2 acres of land where they promptly planted over 750 native medicinal plants and shrubs. They add to this collection every year and have even started gardening on their neighbor's property.
In 2013 Heidi began a year long internship at a local medicinal farm. This internship led to a year long apprenticeship. After two years of intensive hands on learning, Heidi became the chief "medicine mama" of this herbal operation. Heidi spent 5 years creating formulas and expanding her knowledge of various modalities of herbal medicine. She reluctantly walked away from her position to focus on her land and home life.
While taking a break from the business Heidi continued to make herbal remedies for her friends and family. People kept reaching out in search of her products. Her heart strings were being pulled and with a gentle nudge from a friend, she decided to get back into creating herbal remedies as a business. With the blessing of her former boss and the support of friends and family, Heidi launched My Herbal Apothecary. She continues to share her passion of plants and brings you quality handmade herbal remedies seasonal crafted to keep you and your family in good health year round. Salud!
